Why French turns up in Dubai working life
Dubai has the largest French speaking community in the Emirates, and the language shows up in more jobs here than people expect. Not as a nice extra, but as the thing that decides who handles the client.

A1 to B2, and what each level actually gets you
We teach A1 to B2 on the CEFR scale. That is the same scale DELF certificates are graded on, so if a school or an employer asks for B1, it is this ladder they mean.

CEFR descriptors are published by the Council of Europe. DELF requirements are set by the institution asking for them, so confirm the level before preparing for a specific exam.
The four things that trip up English speakers
French flatters you for about a month. The vocabulary looks familiar, then week five arrives and the grammar shows up all at once.
Gender on every noun
No reliable shortcut. Learn la voiture, never voiture, from the first word, because attaching genders to vocabulary you already know is slower than learning them together.
Avoir where English uses to be
Age, hunger, thirst and fear all take avoir. J'ai 30 ans, not je suis 30. It sounds wrong to an English ear for months.
False friends
Actuellement means currently, not actually. Assister means to attend. These are the mistakes people remember for years.
Hearing it at speed
French runs words together. That is why the gap between reading it comfortably and understanding a native speaker is wider than in Spanish.

How long does it take to learn French?
The US Foreign Service Institute puts French in its easiest group for English speakers: roughly 600 to 750 class hours to professional working proficiency. That is the most reliable figure anyone publishes, because the FSI has been timing exactly this for decades.
Which makes the usual question easy to answer honestly.
Is three months enough to learn French?
Not to fluency. Nowhere close, and anyone promising it is selling something.
Three months of steady one to one work will take most people through A1 and into A2. That means introducing yourself, ordering, asking directions, handling a short exchange at work and reading a simple email. It is a real result. It is not fluency, and the difference between the two is mostly hours.

Typical ranges for two or three one to one sessions a week, not a guarantee. The FSI hour estimate assumes intensive full time study, which almost nobody in Dubai is doing.
What is the 80/20 rule in French?
The idea that a small slice of the language does most of the work. In French the most frequent thousand or so words cover the large majority of ordinary speech, so learning those properly beats learning five thousand badly.
It is a rule of thumb, not a law. But it is why early sessions here drill a narrow set of verbs, etre, avoir, aller, faire, pouvoir, vouloir, until they are automatic rather than spreading thin across vocabulary lists.
The other 20 percent is where fluency actually lives. Nobody puts that on a poster.
What A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 mean in French
Six CEFR levels, published by the Council of Europe and used by every French exam board. DELF covers A1 to B2. DALF covers C1 and C2.

We teach A1 to B2, which is where essentially every practical requirement sits: work, DELF, school and immigration files. Past B2 the work is literary and idiomatic, and it is better done by reading and living in the language than by taking classes.
Where can you learn French in Dubai?
Four realistic routes, and they suit genuinely different people. We are one of them, not the answer to every case.

Centre based providers price by term and change their rates, so check current fees with them directly. Our rate is published above and is the same in every emirate.
Be honest about your week before choosing. The usual failure here is not picking the wrong method. It is booking a term of evening classes across town and stopping in week three because the commute beat the intention.
French for Canadian immigration, and the test most people get wrong
If French is for a Canadian application, DELF and DALF will not count. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada accepts only TEF Canada and TCF Canada. People find this out after paying for the wrong exam.
It is the most expensive mistake in this whole subject.
French results are reported on the NCLC scale, the French counterpart of CLB. The level that matters for most applicants is NCLC 7 in all four abilities, which sits at roughly CEFR B2.

Practically, a Dubai applicant aiming at the French category is looking at B2, so a realistic run from a standing start is closer to a year than a quarter.
French tutoring for school students in Dubai
Dubai has more IB and French curriculum schools than anywhere else in the region, and school French is a different job from adult French. The exam decides the syllabus.

Is there a French class near me?
Honestly, no, and on purpose. There is no WizMantra classroom in Dubai. Every session is live video with one tutor and one learner, so the nearest class is wherever you are sitting.
In this city that is an advantage rather than a compromise.
A centre in Media City is twenty minutes away at eleven in the morning and an hour at seven in the evening, which is exactly when the class runs. Marina, JLT, Deira, Business Bay, Silicon Oasis, International City: it makes no difference to us, and a great deal of difference to your week.

Yes. IB French B at Standard and Higher Level and ab initio, plus Key Stage 3 through GCSE and A Level. Sessions target the oral assessment and written accuracy, which is where most marks go missing, rather than covering the syllabus a second time.
Is there a French class near me in Dubai?
There is no WizMantra classroom in Dubai, and that is deliberate. Every session is live video, one tutor and one learner, so the class is wherever you are. Marina, JLT, Deira, Business Bay or Silicon Oasis makes no difference to the slot you book.
I am an absolute beginner. Is that a problem?
No, and it is the most common starting point of all. You need no French whatsoever, and the demo assesses you rather than asking you to choose a level. People who did some French at school usually place higher than they expect to.
How long until I can hold a conversation in French?
Most learners taking two or three sessions a week are managing short everyday conversations inside three months, and a comfortable A2 in six to nine. It depends far more on how much you speak between sessions than on talent. Sessions here are one to one, so you talk for most of the hour.
Do you teach in Dubai, or is it online?
Online, one to one, at a slot fixed with you in Gulf Standard Time. There is no WizMantra classroom in Dubai and we do not claim one. For most people here that is the point: no drive to Media City after work.

Can you prepare me for DELF?
Yes, up to B2. Tell us the level and the date at the start, because the preparation is different from general conversation practice. Confirm the exact level your school, employer or immigration route requires before booking an exam, as that requirement is theirs to set.
I did French at school years ago. Where do I start?
Almost certainly further along than you think, and rarely at the level the school years imply. The AED 30 demo assesses you properly, which matters because starting at the wrong level wastes the first month either way.
Do you teach children French?
