English Classes in Abu Dhabi

Built for the reports, meetings and panels Abu Dhabi actually assesses you on.

WizMantra runs live online English classes for adults across Abu Dhabi, from the island and Khalifa City to Mussafah and Al Shamkha. One teacher, one student, for the whole session.

Fees start at AED 430 a month, and the first class is a paid demo at AED 30 that includes a level assessment. You meet the teacher before you commit to anything.

English classes in Abu Dhabi: the short answer

English classes in Abu Dhabi cost AED 430 to AED 783 a month at WizMantra, taught online one to one. A demo class is AED 30. Classes are 30 minutes, Monday to Friday, with slots from 6am to 9pm Gulf Standard Time.

Abu Dhabi's English problem is not the same as Dubai's. Dubai runs on sales and service. Abu Dhabi runs on government entities, energy and the contractors around them, and the English that gets you promoted there is written and formal before it is conversational.

The English that Abu Dhabi workplaces actually test

In a government or energy employer, the English that decides your progression is usually a written report, a formal meeting, and a structured interview panel. Conversational fluency is assumed. Precision is what gets assessed.

Many general English courses are built around small talk and holiday conversation. Useful, but not what a supervisor at an ADNOC contractor is marked on when they submit an incident report or face three interviewers.

Where formal English gets tested

  • Written reports and emails. Clear, short, unambiguous. Writing English the way you speak it reads as vague in a formal report.
  • Speaking in a meeting where you disagree. Agreeing is easy in a second language. Disagreeing politely, with a reason, is where grammar collapses under pressure.
  • The panel interview. Three people, structured questions, and a competency format that expects a situation, an action and a result. It is a learnable shape, and practising it out loud is what makes it stick.
If your English is fine until someone senior is listening, that is a pressure problem. It is fixed by practising under pressure, not by more vocabulary.

Classes for Mussafah and the industrial areas

People search for English classes in Mussafah specifically. Much of the work there runs on shifts, and a fixed evening course in the city does not fit a shift pattern.

If you finish at 10pm, a 7pm class in Al Nahyan does not exist for you, but a 7am class at home might. If you are on a rotating pattern, a fixed Tuesday and Thursday batch does not work either. Online one to one removes the drive into the city at both ends.

Slots run from 6am to 9pm GST, Monday to Friday. For a late shift, the early morning is often the easiest time to protect.

What English courses cost in Abu Dhabi

WizMantra charges AED 430 at beginner level, AED 613 at intermediate and AED 783 at advanced, per month, for one to one online classes. The demo is AED 30. Few Abu Dhabi institutes publish a comparable figure.

Price opacity is normal here. Most of the sites we checked on Google’s first page ask for an enquiry instead of showing a number. When you collect quotes, ask how many students share the class. That one number decides how much of the lesson is yours.

At AED 613 a month for 20 classes of 30 minutes, an intermediate course works out at about AED 61 an hour with a teacher who works only with you.

Class timings for Abu Dhabi

Classes are 30 minutes, Monday to Friday, with slots from 6am to 9pm Gulf Standard Time. UAE government working hours end mid afternoon, which makes a class between 4pm and 6pm unusually easy to keep here.

Who learns English with us in Abu Dhabi

Government employees

Written English carries more weight than spoken in many public sector roles. Reports, memos and formal correspondence.

Energy sector staff and contractors

Safety reporting, toolbox talks and handovers, where being misunderstood has consequences beyond embarrassment.

Mussafah shift workers

Rotating patterns that no fixed evening batch can accommodate. The slot moves with the rotation.

Arabic speakers

Abu Dhabi has a higher Emirati and Arabic-speaking share than Dubai. Articles, the present perfect and consonant clusters are the predictable friction points.

Job seekers

Structured competency panels are common here. The format is learnable, and rehearsing real answers beats reading about it.

Homemakers

Schools, clinics, banks and government service centres, handled without needing someone to translate.

Your level, on the CEFR scale

CEFR runs A1 to C2 and is what Abu Dhabi employers and universities mean when they specify an English level. Basic is A1 to A2, Intermediate is B1 to B2, Advance is B2 to C1.

  • A1 to A2. You understand far more than you can say. Speaking is the bottleneck, not comprehension.
  • B1 to B2. Comfortable one to one, quiet in a group meeting.
  • B2 to C1. Fluent, and now working on register, precision and sounding less translated in a senior room.

The AED 30 demo exists to settle which of these you are, because self-assessment is unreliable in both directions.

Al Ain sits inside the same emirate but has its own page, written for Arabic speakers and university students. If you moved down from Dubai, the classes are identical but the timings advice differs, because Abu Dhabi's working hours open up the late afternoon. Everything else is on the locations hub.

Questions

English Classes in Abu Dhabi

Common questions from learners in Abu Dhabi, answered.

1How much do English classes cost in Abu Dhabi?

WizMantra charges AED 430 a month at beginner level, AED 613 at intermediate and AED 783 at advanced, for one to one online classes, with an AED 30 demo. Most Abu Dhabi institutes quote on enquiry rather than publishing a price.

2Are there English classes near Mussafah?

Classes are online, so Mussafah is covered without a drive into the city. That matters for shift workers, because a fixed evening batch rarely fits a rotation. Slots run from 6am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, so a late finisher can take an early morning class instead.

3Do you teach business and workplace English?

Yes. For many people working in Abu Dhabi, that is the real requirement: written reports, formal meetings and interview panels, not holiday conversation. Business English, at AED 783 a month, and interview preparation, at AED 613, run as separate one to one courses.

4Can classes fit government working hours?

Yes. UAE government working hours end mid afternoon, so a class between 4pm and 6pm is easy to keep. Slots run from 6am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, and you keep the same slot and the same teacher for the whole course.

5Is this one to one or a group class?

Always one to one. One teacher, one student, the whole session. In a group of ten you speak for six minutes an hour at most. One to one puts that closer to thirty, which is the entire reason the format costs what it does.

6Do you help with interview preparation?

Yes. Many Abu Dhabi employers use structured competency panels, which follow a predictable situation, action and result shape. It is a learnable format, and the fix is practising it out loud with someone who asks the follow up questions a panel would.

7How long before I improve?

Speaking confidence can move within a month of daily classes. A full CEFR level, for example B1 to B2, is roughly 200 guided learning hours by Cambridge English’s estimate, so it takes several months. Anyone promising fluency in thirty days is selling you something.
