Spanish Classes in the UAE, Live and One to One

What you are booking
Live one to one online Spanish, graded A1 to B2 on the CEFR scale, which is the same scale DELE and SIELE report against. You speak in the first class rather than after a term of grammar drills.
- One tutor, one learner. The whole session is your speaking time. This is the difference that actually moves a beginner, and it is why a group class of the same length teaches you less.
- Your slot, your time zone. Sessions are set in Gulf Standard Time around shifts and school runs.
- Spain or Latin America. Tell us which one you deal with and the vocabulary follows.
- Corrected while you speak. Not a list of errors emailed afterwards, which nobody reads.
Fees
Spanish is quoted per level rather than at one flat monthly rate, so ask for the current AED figure before booking. What is fixed is the demo: AED 30, which buys a level check and a real session so you can see how a one to one class runs.
The AED 30 is not refunded and is not adjusted against a later course fee. We would rather say that plainly here than surprise you at checkout. Terms are on the policy page.
Why UAE learners pick up Spanish
Not for a holiday, in most cases. The reasons people give us here are work reasons, and they are specific to living in the Emirates.
The levels, and what you can actually do at each
CEFR runs A1 to C2. We teach A1 to B2, which covers everything from a standing start to working comfortably in Spanish. Beyond B2 you mostly need immersion rather than lessons.

The four things that trip up English speakers
Spanish flatters you early. Pronunciation is regular, a lot of vocabulary looks familiar, and week one feels easy. Week five is where the real grammar shows up, and it is always the same four things.
Ser and estar
Two verbs for to be. Roughly, ser is what something is and estar is how or where it is right now. Say soy aburrido and you have called yourself boring; estoy aburrido means you are bored. No amount of vocabulary rescues this one, only practice.
Every noun has a gender
There is no shortcut. Learn la mesa, never mesa, from the very first word, because retrofitting genders onto a vocabulary you already know is far slower than learning them attached.
False friends
Embarazada means pregnant, not embarrassed. Constipado means you have a cold. Éxito means success. These are the mistakes people remember for years, usually because of where they made them.
The subjunctive
English has traces of it and mostly ignores them. Spanish uses it constantly, for wishes, doubt and anything hypothetical. It arrives around B1 and it is the point where self taught learners tend to stall, because an app can drill the forms but cannot tell you why a native speaker chose one.
What a session actually looks like
Thirty minutes in, here is where a typical class has got to.
- First five minutes, you talk. About your weekend, in Spanish, badly at first. The tutor notes what broke rather than stopping you every sentence.
- Next ten, the thing that broke. Usually one pattern, not five. Three wrong genders is one mistake, not three.
- Then you use it. Same structure, new situations, out loud, until it stops needing thought.
- Last stretch, something real. A message you actually need to send, a call you have to make, a menu you will read on Saturday.
One to one, a group class, or an app
All three work for something. They do not work for the same thing, and picking wrong is the usual reason people give up in month two.

An app between sessions is genuinely useful and we tell people to use one. It is a supplement, not the class. Recognising a word and producing it under pressure are different skills, and only one of them gets tested when somebody speaks to you.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to hold a conversation in Spanish?
Most learners who take two or three sessions a week are holding short everyday conversations inside three months, and reach a comfortable A2 in six to nine. It depends far more on how much you speak between classes than on natural talent. Sessions here are one to one, so you talk for most of the hour rather than a fraction of it.
Is Spanish easier than French or German for an English speaker?
Usually yes on pronunciation, because Spanish is written more or less as it sounds and the vowels never shift. Grammar is a different story. Spanish has two verbs for to be and a subjunctive mood that English barely uses, and both catch people out well before the vocabulary does.
Do you teach Spain Spanish or Latin American Spanish?
Whichever you need. The grammar is shared and the differences are mostly vocabulary, pronunciation of c and z, and whether vosotros is used. Tell your tutor which countries you deal with and the material is set accordingly.
Do I need a certificate, or is speaking enough?
For work in the UAE, speaking is usually what matters and nobody asks for paper. For study or residency in a Spanish speaking country, you will normally be asked for DELE or SIELE. Decide which of the two you are aiming at early, because the preparation is different.

Can my child learn Spanish with you?
Yes, on a separate track with more listening and play and much less grammar. Children and adults do not learn a language the same way, so we do not put them through the same course.
