Spoken English Classes in Sharjah

One teacher, one student, and no drive to Al Majaz after work.

WizMantra teaches live online English classes to adults across Sharjah, from Al Majaz and Al Nahda to Muwaileh and University City. Every session is one teacher and one student, so the class is yours instead of being split across a batch.

Classes start at AED 430 a month. The first session is a paid demo at AED 30 and includes a level assessment. Nothing is booked until you have met the teacher.

Spoken English classes in Sharjah: the short answer

Spoken English classes in Sharjah cost AED 430 to AED 783 a month at WizMantra, taught online as one to one sessions. A trial class is AED 30. Classes are 30 minutes, Monday to Friday, and because the class comes to you there is no drive to Al Majaz or Muwaileh after work.

Sharjah has plenty of good training centres. What it does not have is a way to sit in one of them at 7pm without giving up the rest of your evening.

The Sharjah commute makes evening classes expensive

If you live in Sharjah and work in Dubai, an evening class in Sharjah is rarely a ninety minute commitment. Between the drive home on Al Ittihad Road, the drive to the centre and the drive back, a ninety minute lesson can easily cost three hours of your evening.

It is easy to see how an evening course gets dropped. The lesson is not what wears you down. The fifth week of leaving the house again at 6:45pm, after an hour in traffic already, is.

An online class removes the two drives and leaves the lesson. That sounds like a small thing until you count it across a three month course.

At an hour of driving per class, a twice weekly evening course in Sharjah costs about 24 hours on the road across three months, before you have learned a single new sentence. Online, that number is zero.

There is a real trade off. You lose the classroom and the discipline of having somewhere to be. Some people need that. If you are one of them, a Sharjah centre is the better choice and you should take it.

What English classes cost in Sharjah

WizMantra charges AED 430 a month at beginner level, AED 613 at intermediate and AED 783 at advanced, for one to one online lessons. Most Sharjah institutes do not publish prices at all.

Comparing prices here is harder than it should be, because most centres treat the number as something you earn by filling in a form. When you do get quotes, check what you are buying. A group course and a one to one course at a similar price are not the same product. The difference is how many minutes of each class you spend speaking.

There are options at no cost too. Several UAE centres run conversation sessions without charge, and they help if you can already hold a conversation and need practice. They will not fix grammar, because nobody in the room is tracking yours.

Class timings that fit a Sharjah working day

Classes are 30 minutes, Monday to Friday, with slots from 6am to 9pm Gulf Standard Time. If you commute into Dubai, the early slots before the drive work best, or an evening slot once you are home.

SlotTime (GST)Why it works in Sharjah
Before the commute6:00 to 7:30You are awake anyway. The lesson finishes before you leave for Dubai.
Midday11:00 to 15:00Homemakers, and anyone working inside Sharjah with a real lunch break.
Evening19:00 to 21:00Once you are home. If the drive runs late, take the later end of the window.

Al Majaz, Al Nahda, Al Qasimia, Muwaileh, Al Taawun, University City, Al Khan, Rolla: none of them is closer to the class than any other, which is the point.

Who learns English with us in Sharjah

Dubai commuters

You work in Dubai, live in Sharjah for the rent, and have no evening left. The class fits either side of the drive.

Families

A parent can start a course first, then add one for a child once they have seen how it runs.

University City students

Coursework in English, presentations in English, and a viva that assesses how clearly you can think out loud.

Arabic speakers

The recurring friction points are articles, the present perfect, and consonant clusters Arabic does not use. A teacher who expects those stops guessing.

Shop and showroom staff

Retail work in Rolla and Al Qasimia often runs in English, between people who share no first language. That is a specific skill.

Job seekers

Interviews across the northern emirates usually happen in English, often with a panel of non native speakers too.

English classes for children in Sharjah

Children's classes run the same one to one format at AED 430 a month, with a teacher who works with the child rather than a group of eight. Sessions are built around speaking and reading aloud rather than worksheets.

A question many parents bring is this one: my child reads English well but will not speak it. That is a confidence problem, not a vocabulary one, and it does not improve in a room where a child can stay quiet for the whole class.

Full detail is on the English classes for kids page.

Your level, on the CEFR scale

CEFR is the A1 to C2 scale UAE employers and universities use. Basic covers A1 to A2, Intermediate covers B1 to B2, Advance covers B2 to C1. If a job advert in Sharjah asks for B2 English, that is what it means.

Placing yourself is harder than it looks. The demo settles it: a teacher talks with you for a session and tells you where you actually sit, which beats any self-assessment or online quiz.

  • A1 to A2, Basic. You understand more than you can produce. The sentence is built, translated, and by then the moment has passed.
  • B1 to B2, Intermediate. Fluent until the pressure rises. Then the grammar slips.
  • B2 to C1, Advance. Your English works. You want precision, register, and to stop sounding translated.

Questions

Spoken English Classes in Sharjah

Common questions from learners in Sharjah, answered.

1Which course is best to improve English speaking?

The one that gives you the most speaking time: about thirty minutes of talking per hour one to one, against six at most in a group of ten. Course names matter far less than that arithmetic when speaking is what you want to fix.

2Can I speak English fluently in 30 days?

No, and anyone promising it is selling something. Thirty days of steady practice can lift your confidence and fix specific recurring errors. A full CEFR level, for example B1 to B2, is roughly 200 guided learning hours by Cambridge English’s estimate, so it takes months, not weeks.

3How much do spoken English classes cost in Sharjah?

WizMantra charges AED 430 to AED 783 a month depending on level, with an AED 30 demo. Classes are one to one and online. Most Sharjah centres quote on enquiry instead of publishing prices, so compare what each class gives you in speaking time, not just the monthly figure.

4Where can I learn public speaking for children in Sharjah?

Children’s speaking classes run online, one to one, at AED 430 a month. They are built around talking and reading aloud, not worksheets. A shy child cannot hide in a one to one session, which is usually the whole problem in a group of eight.

5Where can I practise spoken English in Sharjah at no cost?

Several UAE centres run conversation clubs at no cost, and they help if you can already hold a conversation. What they do not give you is correction, so they build confidence rather than accuracy. Use them alongside lessons, not instead of them.

6Do I have to travel to a centre in Sharjah?

No. Classes are online, so you join from Al Majaz, Muwaileh, Al Nahda, University City or anywhere else without a drive. For anyone commuting to Dubai, that removes around 24 hours of travel across a three month course, at an hour of driving per class twice a week.

7What are the class timings?

Classes are 30 minutes, Monday to Friday. Slots run from 6am to 9pm Gulf Standard Time. If you commute to Dubai, an early slot before the drive works well, or an evening slot once you are home. You keep the same slot and teacher throughout.
